Respondents please take your time. I will try to be clear.
1. My question is not a negative one. I happen to love the heels and on the right set of curves the more snug fabrics is nice as well. Not so into the earrings but that’s okay.
2. I would like some female responders. I would like serious (or at least semi-serious) answers. Especially if you dress that way (not just for the club…but “usually”).
3. I am asking from a social science ” who did it first” standpoint. For example think of the backwards baseball cap. It appears that black rappers/athletes did it first now its very common in middle class white kids (at least at my local mall)…now not as common for black kids. It has been “passed on.”
Yet with the heels, big earrings, tight clothes it seems to be most common in blacks/latins (some white girls -who date that group) and persists in both.
Any thoughts. Please share.

I wear big hoop earring & high heels. I’m white.
because it makes them feel good to have their “Butts” sticking out and their “Cleivage” showing. they especially love to wear all that heavy jewlery and make up to show off to the guys that they are an out going person….but mostly, they do it ’cause they think it makes the guy find them more attractive, causing the girl to get a little action. pluss, it makes the girl (some how) feel good putting on all that heavy jewlery. then again that’s just my opinion. hope it anwsered your question.
High heels lift the butt, also the clicking of the heels on the ground makes a woman feel more confident.
Tight clothes accentuate a woman’s curves. Latin/Black woman embrace their curvaceous bodies more that many white girls do.
Earrings add sparkle and bling… and doesn’t everybody like bling?
My feeling is that the trends you speak of are geographical, social, economical, gender specific, and personal. For instance, the women you speak of dress differently in Iowa than in New York. One must take into account the peers of the person as well…girls in particular like to dress like their friends as it is socially acceptable. Economics play a factor in what can be afforded in terms of proper size, manufacturer, etc. The person’s self esteem is also a factor (whether dressing in this manner to attract attention for sexual purposes or to fit in, etc.)
Your frame of reference is incomplete (about the backward ball cap) which I was wearing (yes, a girl) as a teenager in the 1970′s, before rap was even heard of. Where and when I came from, the ball cap was worn by mechanics that wore the hat to keep dirt and grease out of their hair but put backward so the bill would not get in the way when face down in an engine. This was also done by farmers (they don’t wear cowboy hats in my area usually). Even motorcycle riders: wear it backward or lose the hat in the wind.
the same reason you see latin and black men in orange suits…they’re flashy, they wear some stuff that white people would never wear. I have no idea where it came from, it’s just a common acceptable thing. When you were raised around people like that odds are that you will think that’s normal and probably dress the same. Just like any other group. Why do some white people dress like cowboys? I have no idea.
I think you just described WOMEN! LOL!! so many women in my class dress like that. I love generalizations
HOOP EARRINGS=HOT
HEELS=SEXY
TIGHT CLOTHES=BAAAAAM!!!!!!!!!!!
The only time I wear something tight, is when I am going to the club.
I haven’t been to the club in 4 years.
I will rock the highest pair of heels, in a second.
And I have never worn earrings too heavy for my ears.
I think that is disgusting. I mean don’t the women feel it? The worst is when they have a big heavy earring still in a ear that is so torn, only a tiny piece of meat is holding the ear together.
Or when they have split the ear the whole way through, and then make ANOTHER hole, and put a heavy earring in IT.
as a white male i love when the latin girls where the big hoop earrings.
i wear really high heels and i love tight clothes. but that’s not really a ‘race’ thing… but hey i dont use earrings at all lol i dont even have my ears pierced.
You say your question isn’t meant to be negative, however I find it kind of rude. Women wear fitted clothing because men like to see a woman’s figure, women wear high heels, because it makes their legs look better, makes them look taller, makes them look more like a model, all men wear flat shoes, wearing high heels makes you more feminine, WTF? Don’t you have a brain? And IIIII wear big earrings because I have a larger face and jewelry can add on to one’s beauty, and it’s rude to specify only Latin and Black women, care to turn on your television?
- And Doreen’s little piece of meat that’s keeping the earring on their ear, LOL, man, you cracked me up.
woman period wear clothes like this but for me as a black girl i dont see many woman wearin tight ass clothes and earings there just an accessory and alot of white woman wear them now but they used to call them ghetto and poor but just like they call tight clothing ugli and wanting to show off they do it now and black people didnt have heels first and latinos didnt either they had other things to wearthe white woman wore it its just alot of different races just look betta in otha clothes not to be racist just tellen the truth
tight clothes, high heels-white women
